China,
the world's largest producer of aquaculture products, has been the focal
point of the marketing effort by the American Soybean Association-International
Marketing. Field trials began in China in 1992 on fish nutrition, feed-based
aquaculture technologies and application of soy-product in feeds for farmed
freshwater fish. The ASA-IM feeding trials with marine fin fish began
in 1999. International aquaculture marketing and research projects are ongoing to examine and develop high soy-inclusion aquafeeds for farmed freshwater and marine fish and shrimp. Marketing and research efforts target countries in East Asia, Southeast Asia, India, Latin America, the Middle East, and the United States. |
