India is the second-largest aquaculture producing nation globally, after China, and has traditionally been a major producer of native Indian carps and diversifying with additional species, such as Pangasius, which is now the second-most-produced freshwater species after Indian carp. The aquaculture industry in India is modernizing and diversifying with additional species in production.
